WWOOFA or Willing Workers On Organic Farms Association. This system allows people to travel to farms around the world where they can work a few hours a day in exchange for food and board. This means that one can keep their expenses down to a minimum whilst enjoying the lifestyle of another culture. Airfare and transport to the location may be all that's needed. Of course one should have decent clothes and equipment for the type of work and living conditions. The places that host you often see little profit, the case for many small home/farm endeavours.
